Discovery-Making Soap
Purpose: I wonder...
If the soap will hold it shape, and if the smell will come across quite strong. I wonder how smooth it will come out
Hypothesis: I think...
I think the soap will turn out quite well and set, because it started setting quickly as soon as we left it. I also think the smell will come out quite strong.
Procedure:
- Cut your Soap into blocks, then melt for 1 ½ minutes or until smooth
- Add 2 mls of Fragrance, and a few drops of Coloring Essence into your jug and whisk together
- Pour your mixture into your Silicones, (if they are deep fill half way). Bubbles will start to appear, so spray some rubbing Alcohol on top
- Now leave to set for approximately 30 mins, or until set
Materials: Soap Base, Measuring Jug, Fragrances, Whisk, Pipettes, Silicone Molds, Rubbing Alcohol, Coloring Essence
Results:
Our Soap smells like chocolate, and it’s the shape of the silicone, and it’s shiny and silky
Conclusion:I learnt that…
This way of making soap is way safer than using caustic soda, because there are no extreme chemical reactions
