This week I have been learning about a different culture. The Tokelauan culture. As part of math I had to learn to count to ten, and include images relevant to the culture your learning; surprisingly it sounded a lot like the Maori language so I'm going to let you find out why. So please enjoy and leave a comment and I'll be sure to reply!

PCS Market Day

The PCS Market Day was last Friday, it started of raining but everyone finished off on a high note. My class made Flubber Soap, normal Soap, and Glow in the Dark Flubber & Normal Soap (the best part is that it was scented). I had so much fun and I'm sure everyone else did.  So please comment and I will be sure to reply.

The Horrible Twit's

Mr Twit the Prankster King
Well let’s start on his appearance. Mmmmhhh… Well his beard, oh his beastly beard. He has not washed it for years and I mean years that his beard is a zoo, if you don’t believe me ask the piece of cheese in there. Poor things been in there for so long it came alive, and is lying there feeling solemnly sad for himself. His face is so hairy that even big foot can’t go up against, his beard will smack him right down, slap him twice, and post all the way back to the mountains he’s been hiding in, as if he’s a rugby ball scoring the last try. Ok enough about his appearance it’s making me sick, and more about his personality so hold your stomach. His heart is a cold iron. He is so mean he even eats birds. I’m not even sure his heart has love left in it, or if there was any in there, because from what I’ve heard he’s been pranking his wife, and even sent her flying LITERALLY!!!
Mrs Twit the Cold Hearted woman
Mrs Twit’s appearance is the reflection of Mr Twit, except without the beard I guess that’s why they compliment eachother so well. If I could describe her looks  in 4 words I would say she was ugly, unique, untouchable, unpleasant. Her personality shines through her, so don’t look at her incase you catch her face diseases. The words that come out of her mouth are like bullets, she doesn’t mind if she hurts your feelings, as long as she is the “bigger” person. I’m warning you now do not eat her spaghetti, it might be worms. Actually I think they came out of Mr Twit’s beard, or was it her bush like hair. So to sum it all up she’s a ghastly, witch who doesn’t care about her looks (or her husband's), and likes to annoy the heck out of people like those pickpocketing monkeys.

AND MIKE DROP!!! (By the way the highlighted are simile's, metaphor's, adverb's, and alliteration's)

Making Soap

Discovery-Making Soap

Purpose:  I wonder...
If the soap will hold it shape, and if the smell will come across quite strong. I wonder how smooth it will come out

Hypothesis: I think...
I think the soap will turn out quite well and set, because it started setting quickly as soon as we left it. I also think the smell will come out quite strong.

Procedure:
  1. Cut your Soap into blocks, then melt for 1 ½ minutes or until smooth
  2. Add 2 mls of Fragrance, and a few drops of Coloring Essence into your jug and whisk together
  3. Pour your mixture into your Silicones, (if they are deep fill half way). Bubbles will start to appear, so spray some rubbing Alcohol on top
  4. Now leave to set for approximately 30 mins, or until set
Materials: Soap Base, Measuring Jug, Fragrances, Whisk, Pipettes, Silicone Molds, Rubbing Alcohol, Coloring Essence

Results:
Our Soap smells like chocolate, and it’s the shape of the silicone, and it’s shiny and silky
Conclusion:I learnt that…
This way of making soap is way safer than using caustic soda, because there are no extreme chemical reactions

(500 ml of the jug made 4 bars)

What I have learnt from our Cookbook

From making our Cookbook I have learn’t lots of things. Like how you need to work out your costings, and expenses, to make a price, because you can’t pick a random price and not know the math behind it. I have managed our finances, using sheets and emailing invoices, and that was the most interesting job I did because it taught me how important it is to control your finances. I learned what an appealing recipe looks like, so that people want to buy your product. My favorite was learning different ways to market a product, because you always need to advertise, and sell your product.
